Started in 2017 by artist Dayana Ruiz, Breast Shirt, challenges the taboo of the non-male nipple by wearing a t-shirt with a printed image of one’s own breasts. The simple act of wearing a Breast Shirt gives the person autonomy over their sexuality and body through the viewer’s continuation of seeing the image of their breasts, ending the cultural indoctrination of shaming the female body.

Ruiz is multi-disciplinary, conceptual artist based in Miami, Florida; received thier BFA in sculpture from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in 2016.
